@maisoncocorie: Forever 🤍, my dearest Abigail! Abby, along with Drizella and Ursula, moved into this house with me at the beginning of 2021. It feels like she has been here forever, even though it hasn't been that long. Abby is unfortunately the only one left from the three chickens. I hold my first little chickens especially close to my heart. Together, we embarked on this new chapter in our lives in this house, and because of them, I've spent more time in the garden than indoors. I had already taken care of my parents' chicken flock for many years prior, so thankfully, I wasn't a complete novice. That spared me from some hardships. However, the time with my three girls was cut short, as the other two likely succumbed to leukemia and the resulting tumors. I hope that at least my beloved Abby becomes a grand old lady! She's actually in her prime and more active than ever. Strangely enough, she still lays an XXL egg every day within a matter of minutes. I wish she would just take a break from it. We won't be trying any more hormonal supplements for now. While they did improve her plumage, poor Abby became completely apathetic and seemed like a different chicken altogether due to the hormonal changes.
