@notjustabartender: 🎶Ice Ice, Baby🎶 One of the most common questions I get is about the ice I use making cocktails. Well, here it is. We don’t gatekeeper around here.
The biggest key to success: directional freezing. I’ve had people try to tell me that either boiling water or using purified water gets clear ice, that just won’t simply beat the natural mechanics of freezing water in one direction to ensure all air bubbles and impurities are pushed out of your final result. Even with the mineral dense water I have here in Las Vegas, I still achieve really nice clarity with such a simple system. Grant Angus :
why go to the trouble of making clear ice just to crack it and mix with?

I thought you had to boil water to get clear ice! This is great.

I've got a small restaurant and getting clear ice for cocktails is something I'm struggling to come up with a solution for - got any recommendations?

I have the same one. I like letting the whole thing freeze and using the bottom for jagged rocks 🙌

I have one that’s 4 cubes and keep about 20 of them on hand but those are bigger and intended for cocktail rather than the shaker

We have this and love it! P.s. - try smoking water on a smoker and then using that in to make the cubes for Whiskey. Game changer!

I just use a cooler and hand cut the cubes but this definitely looks easier. Although people are impressed if I say it’s hand cut ice 😏

Can we just take a minute to appreciate the stacking of the ice in the bag though? 🤌🏼

Just use a small Coleman cooler with the lid removed and take the block of ice out before it freezes all the way to the bottom…

We have those trays at work and never did I fill up the plastic part then put the tray on top. I’m always trying to fit the whole thing in the sink 😂
