🏰 Hidden in the mists of myth, Caer Sidi stands as one of the great mysteries of Welsh legend. A fortress beyond the mortal world, where time stands still, and few who enter ever return. From Arthur’s doomed voyage to whispers of enchanted chains and sacred springs, Caer Sidi holds its place as a gateway to the Otherworld… ✨ Follow @whispersofilire for ancient myths, lost legends, and the hidden history of the Otherworld. Selkies and Trows: Shetland’s Otherworldly Folk Where Scotland meets the sea, the Shetland Isles hold a folklore shaped by waves, wind, and something older still. Selkies: seal-people who shed their skins to walk among us. Trows: small, grey-clad beings who play strange music under the hills. ✨ Explore the full tales and more folklore from the edges of the world over on Patreon. Were myths and folklore once experienced as reality? In this second part of my interview with Professor Kristen Poole, we step into the mindset of the 16th and 17th centuries; a world where measured, physical space existed side by side with the supernatural. To people then, it was perfectly natural to live within both realms at once. Even as modern science began to take shape, echoes of the supernatural still lingered, overlapping with the emerging map of the world. 🎓 Professor Kristen Poole teaches at the University of Delaware, where she holds an endowed chair in English Literature. She specialises in Renaissance literature, religion, and science, and is currently a Visiting Fellow at Exeter College, University of Oxford. She holds degrees in English Literature from Harvard and Theology. 📚 You can find out more about Kristen’s latest book on Philip Pullman’s work at: 🔗 https://global.oup.com/academic/product/philip-pullman-and-the-historical-imagination ✨ Watch the full interview now on YouTube.
