The feeling you get on your tongue is actually from an enzyme called bromelain. The enzyme is essentially breaking down the proteins on your tongue 🍍

If you cook/microwave your pineapple then freeze it, you’ll denature the enzymes you’re allergic to and you will be able to eat it!
