I only signal when I know that the people around me need to see it. If its 1 single slow moving car I dont bother because me returning to lane 1 wont

Signal. Particularly if it’s a large vehicle with long stopping distances - may want you further away than the usual 2secs.

Depends. Yes if someone's tailgating so they don't try undertake, if I'm slipping in between 2 cars I also would, but no if clear ahead and behind

Yes you should signal on dual carriageway as you need to confirm if you are moving back into left lane and not continuing to overtake other vehicles

I took some advanced lessons with the IAM. They said not to signal when returning to your lane after overtake.

On a dual carriageway I was taught that the expectation is that you will return to the left lane after the overtake so no need. 🤷♂️

dependsnon the circumstances, if there's a slip road off then no as people might think your cutting over to the slip, otherwise yes

I always signal on 2 lanes. 1 Lane isn't necessary as it's an obvious overtake where I'll be returning to the correct side of the road.

You are taught to do that when doing HGV licences. I do this in my car - just good practice to indicate on all manoeuvres

On a single lane carriageway I would signal to go onto the opposite side of the road but not signal going back to the left after the overtake.

Duel carraigeway or motorway, signal left after overtaking. Normal single road, no left signal. That's what I do, anyway.

I see people signalling as they pass parked cars. This is pointless, as it’s inevitable that you have to pass. Can also be mistaken for a right turn.
