@maximumskin: This incredibly sad situation didn’t need and shouldn’t have even happened. BBL lasers are not suitable for deep skin tones like hers. I decided to make a video with some tips! Here are some things you should consider if you’re new to laser or switching to a new device. 1. Ask for before and afters: make sure it’s your skin tone and your condition. Before and afters are tricky to receive sometimes because consent is needed and not everyone wants to advertise, but you should be able to get a minimum of 3 before and afters. 2. Get the consent form and pre/post-care instructions: review them in depth. If you have questions, write it down and ask before you make a payment. 3. Ask for a patch test: this is pretty standard to do. If they’re not offering this, ask for it. In busy offices it might be difficult to do the same day, but booking a patch test at a future date shouldn’t be a problem. Also, this is usually free! 4.
