Today marks 25 years since the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. We all remember where we were that day. We will never forget. For today, Jared letterpress printed an image from an electrotype (copy of a woodcut). This small cut depicts the U.S. flag and was made long ago as there are not 50 stars on it. The text above and below the flag, set in 24 point Stymie Bold font, states, “September 11, 2001 We will never forget.” This was printed with black rubber base ink using a Golding Official No. 2 tabletop printing press, which was made in 1919. Eighty prints were made on this press run and you can stop by the Sacramento History Museum and get your free copy (while prints last). #SacHistoryMuseum #september11 #onthisday #museumtok #printing
