this is almost exactly how cable lines are spliced on the poles, but they have a stinger in them

I would imagine air line fittings would work as well. if they hold 130 to 150 psi it shoukd hold ac pressure lines.

Or take it out and go to pirtek, Bristol hose, etc and have them make you a new line altogether. No worry about a compression fitting failing

Had an old mechanic silver solder one of my obsolete line's and it held just fine. $15 is better than $150 for a used line off eBay.
