Yes… this time we remembered the placenta. 😌 @drbahaadmour😉 And after delivery, we didn’t magically close everything at once either — the surgical layers are restored step by step. What Really Happens During a C-Section? | Layer by Layer 👶🏻 During a cesarean delivery, the baby is delivered through an incision in the abdomen and uterus. The placenta is then removed, the uterine cavity is checked, bleeding is controlled, and the uterus is repaired. The abdominal wall is then reconstructed in layers before the skin is finally closed. The exact closure technique can vary between surgeons and clinical situations. Some tissue planes may be closed separately, while others may not require suturing in every procedure. The goal is always the same: secure healing, control bleeding, and restore the abdominal wall safely. A cesarean delivery is an extremely important and sometimes life-saving operation, but it is still major abdominal surgery. It should not be viewed simply as an easier alternative to avoiding labor pain. When there is no medical reason for surgery, vaginal delivery is generally associated with a faster recovery and fewer surgical risks, while labor pain can often be managed with several effective pain-relief options. There is also no universal fixed number of cesarean deliveries that is considered completely safe for everyone. However, with repeated cesarean deliveries, the risk of adhesions, bleeding, surgical injury, placenta previa, and placenta accreta spectrum can increase.
