@homegrownhollie_: Harvesting carrots for the first time! 🥕👩🏻🌾 — Mistakes I made was definitely not thinning them enough! Hard to cut them when they look so healthy and abundant but that resulted in a lot of tiny carrots. 😩 I may also try and plant them a little earlier next year. But it was fun, and I was still able to get good tasting carrots so it’s a win for me 🙌🏼 now to peel and cut them up so I can can… I’m gonna be peeling for days 😖 Have you ever grown carrots in your garden before?! — #growingmyownfood #growingfood #growingahomestead #growfood #gardentotable #gardentoplate #gardenhaul #mygardentoday #mygardenismyhappyplace

grow them in 5 gallon buckets. drill a couple holes near the bottom. I mix in some sand with the dirt. get food safe buckets from the grocery store

you can do carrots in the fall as well so you can add compost or manure to your bed and replant

Save the tops for carrot top pesto! You did fine. I never thin, but know I should thin out, my carrots.

I don’t know where you live, I’m in north cali, I planted in February and am still pulling carrots. I check to see how big the top is and pull if big.
