I won’t forget this day, not because of the waves but for a friend. The forecast was pretty solid with funky winds early then getting better later on, so @george_vanderz and I buzzed around to see if we could get a couple early before all the crew turned up. This wave was one of the very few early that actually stayed open, I took a different line than usual and stood tall as it was pretty hollow, on reflection I could have been deeper as we all want to be, but I was still stoked to get a double spitter. Most of the waves early were crumbling because of the wind and as kids we probably didn’t really factor that in as much as the elders did that were sitting back waiting a little. Had grom froth I guess! We all took some bad beatings because of this early and the worst was @harryhcross He went down on a big one that crumbled and wound up in a really heavy situation. Seeing your friend in such distress was shattering.
