We were planning to do a little train ride up to Jungfraujoch (the top of Europe) and enjoy our day eating some chocolate…but he told us to ditch that plan, and go take on this WILD hike! 😂 Grateful to have met this man, and to have taken the date! - 📍 VIA FERRATA MÜRREN If you want to hang on the side of a cliff 1600-2000 feet above the Lauterbrunnen Valley, then this is the way to do it! 😂 - it cost $25 to rent the equipment and you rent it from the Inter Sport building in Mürren. - you CANT do this hike if there is rain in the forecast as it would be extremely dangerous. They won’t even rent you the equipment. - wear hiking boots/shoes or else you’ll have to rent them. - we also recommend brining (or buying) gloves. The wire will wear your hands down and it can also get really hot! - In our opinion, the scariest part is the initial walk on the side of the cliff (as seen here). Once your past that - it all gets easier! - It’s 2.2km long but takes about 3 hours to complete. - it’s only open from June 1 - October 31st. - it is FREE to do! You just have to rent the equipment.
