My first week of summer started out well, with a large donation of books for my Library Refurbishment Project for St Paul Methodist Basic School Tema . Every child needs a conducive environment to learn, grow, and develop well. A library is supposed to be an inviting, welcoming, and fun-looking place for children to want to go and learn. But that is not the case for the pupils of St. Paul’s Methodist Basic School at Tema in Ghana, West Africa. The school library is woefully congested, and the shelves are stashed with loads of irrelevant books for the children. I am only 10 years old, but I felt so depressed on my recent visit to Ghana and to the school, where I donated copies of my books. I am therefore committing a greater part of the proceeds from the sale of my books to refurbish the school library for my fellow peers.
