It happened to me too and the artist/studio was super clean. For me it was the ink. My body rejected it.

As a beginner tattoo artist, it’s sooo important to hear stories like that! Sometimes the cleaning practices are taught without further explanation

The ink could also have been contaminated at the point of manufacture. The artist needs to know & should report it to the manufacturer

Overworking the skin during the tattoo process can make you much more likely to get an infection. Maybe that was a part of it too?
