A bit more context following my last post which was not worded with enough detail🙈 Obviously you know your own baby and are able to use your common sense and instincts around these things to but i wanted to clarify 1 - my mention of being a bit “forceful” sometimes was to get a deeper latch and avoid shallow latching and nipple trauma. It was never done in an aggressive way just in a way that wasn’t hesitant and leading to shallow latching 2 - obviously you can feed for longer than 15 minutes and your baby may still be drinking, can listen for swallowing etc this was just a guideline as for example if out and about comfort latching is not ideal Obviously there is nutritional value to breastfeeding after a year, but i’m pretty sure the reason my 15 month old is still feeding is mainly for comfort. But the nutritional value and benefits of it is there for times of illness etc too #motherhood #mumsoftiktok #mumsoftiktokuk #mumtok #foryoupage #foryouofficiall #foryou #breastfeeding #breastfeedingtips
