@thatmountainlife: I post crashes and moments of failures because it’s real life. Social media can make it seem like the families you follow always have things so perfect. Things are rarely if ever “perfect” in our life. I’m not a perfect father and Adia hasn’t perfected her bike skills. And both of those truths are okay with me. Being towed up does have its learning curve and the steeper and sharper the turns the more skilled the “towee” has to be. I do everything I can in my power to ensure our kids don’t crash and fall too much. It can easily turn a child off an activity. It can set them back and discourage them from wanting to participate. It’s as if there is a ratio between wins and losses that’s needs to be hit. A sweet spot of successful confidence building moments and failure. Crashes do happen. And when they do I do everything I can in my power to normalize it, give them time to process it and to celebrate getting back up. Get out there with your kids. Children thrive knowing they are okay during failure. Outdoor adventures are the perfect way to create a healthy relationship with failure. #dadlife #biking #fatherdaughter #outdoorkids #resilience #daddysgirl #cuteness #wholesome #family #adventures #outdoorfamily #raisingkids #parenting
