I had a friend, Oliver, who wanted to learn to wingsuit, and another friend Vasil who sailed with us from Denmark to Norway. Six weeks of sailing every day until we reached Helibogge. The same mountain that was my first wingsuit jump. This place was magical for me. Not only because we were going to explore wingsuiting again, but because it was the first place I had ever been to outside of America. It changed my life to see how different the world was. This trip inspired me to take wingsuiting seriously. To stop being reckless, stop treating it like a stunt, and evaluate why I really wanted to fly. But like all good adventures, the outcome is unknown. A new person joined us after five years of no currency and decided he was going to jump with us. He had a 150 and was aiming at the wall when he opened, but his quick reaction saved him from impact. Vasil, newer to cliffs, was learning with us. The goal was to do a flyby after he opened. We waited for the wind to die. Everyone took their places. We checked the math, geared up, and got ready. The plan went perfectly. Well, not quite perfectly. Off headings happened, but that's all part of the game. Unfortunately, he broke his leg on landing, so it's safe to say he didn't have a very successful jump. But the rest of us did. Everyone walked away. Well, he limped away, but you guys understand what I'm saying.
