Let us know which one is the best, or if we should try something completely different!! 👀🛹 Our sound designer Nigel makes most all of our sound effects for Loftia using foley recording! This involves making sounds using everyday objects and actions to try and mimic the most accurate sound. 💥 In this case for our skate rails, he’s used a plastic board with a plastic tube and a glass cup - using both the edges and the sides of the objects to create different sounds. It’s super cool to see how a slight change in the way you hold the object can drastically change the way it sounds 📢 Now you might not have expected to see this kind of traversal in a cozy game like Loftia, and neither did we in the beginning! But we wanted a fun new way to explore parts of the city, and this feature will allow you to travel to super tall heights and access exclusive areas. It’s actually soo much fun sliding along these rails and even better when you‘re doing it other players too. All the visuals you see here are just placeholders - including the railing, colors and visual effects like the sparks that fly out underneath. We’re thinking of going for something in between tech and rustic, so while the rails will be made of some type of metal, it‘ll still look refined. We just added the player animation though, and as you can see it looks almost like a surfing animation! 🌊🏄 We can’t wait for you to try this feature out in Loftia!!
