Jade Dragon Snow Mountain aka Yulong Snow Mountain 🏔 One of my favorite places visited in China so far 🥹 Definitely a must-visit if you're in Lijiang, but do take precautions to prevent altitude sickness! The cable car to Glacier Park 冰川公园 brings you to 4,506m, then you need to climb over 1,000 steps to reach the highest point accessible to tourists: 4,680m. (The peak is 5,596m, but not for tourists) Some tips if you're headed there: 👉It takes around 30-40 minutes to comfortably climb up. UV rays are very strong at this altitude, so don't forget to bring sunblock / sunglasses / hat! I got sunburnt on the back of my hands and on my scalp... 👉Don't be under the impression that canned oxygen is only for the

The average person would use ~1 can of 1L, but you can bring 2 just in case. It's recommended to start using while in the cable car, don't wait until you're feeling lightheaded and breathless. I suggest buying them in Lijiang Old Town (10-15RMB), otherwise they're 40-60RMB on the mountain... 👉Mountain weather is unpredictable, so bring warm clothes and rainwear. When I visited, the skies were so clear and blue at 10am, but it got cloudy at 11am, rained at 1pm, and snowed at 3pm. 👉Drink lots of water and stay hydrated. The high altitude makes you breath more rapidly and dries your throat.
