@maisoncocorie: Join me as I tackle the chicken coop cleanup! 🐔🧹 I like to divide my cleanups into dailies and deep cleanups. Today, it's a deep cleanup, where I'll empty and disinfect the entire coop. Every 2-4 months, I do this, and if there have been any diseases in my flock, I do it more frequently. My daily cleanups are only based on removing the chicken poop from last night off of the poop board underneath the roosting bars. Here's my deep cleanup routine: 1️⃣ Preparing the cleaning water with a bucket mixed with Rhodasept to disinfect the coop! 🪣 2️⃣ Removing all items from inside the coop, like the roosting bars, to ensure a thorough cleaning. 3️⃣ Completely clearing out the old litter. 4️⃣ Using a bucket with Rhodasept + Water to clean and disinfect the walls and ground from old poop. 🧼 5️⃣ Using a vinegar cleaning agent and a brush to remove old poop build-up from the poop board and roosting bars. 🧽 6️⃣ Refilling the coop with fresh new litter. I use hemp litter from MultiFit, but I prefer eucalyptus-based ones as they’re great for my chickens' respiratory health. 🐔💛 7️⃣ Dusting the entire coop, roosting bars, and litter with Cumbasil Mite to prevent mites and other vermin.
