National Guard troops from three states are headed to D.C. to aid in President Donald Trump’s effort to crack down on crime and homelessness. At least 650 Guard troops are expected, all from Republican-led states. West Virginia said it will deploy 300 to 400 Guard troops, South Carolina pledged 200 and Ohio said it will send 150 in the coming days, marking a significant escalation of the federal intervention. Members of the West Virginia National Guard began to arrive at the D.C. Armory, NBC News reported overnight. #washingtondc #districtofcolumbia #maryland #virginia #nationalguard #dctiktok #dmvtiktok #donaldtrump #dcpolice

The haunting truth behind Lame Lanier, formerly a town called Oscarville GA. They didn’t just flood the land — they tried to drown the truth. Oscarville was once a thriving Black community in Forsyth County, Georgia — home to hundreds of Black families, farmers, and business owners who built something powerful out of nothing. But in 1912, after false accusations and racially motivated terror campaigns, white mobs violently drove Black residents out. And then came the water. In the 1950s, the U.S. government flooded the land to create Lake Lanier, erasing what remained of Oscarville. But we remember. We remember the lives stolen. We remember the businesses burned. We remember how Black excellence was washed away — not by accident, but by design. 🗣️ Say their names. Tell their stories. Because beneath the waves of Lake Lanier lies the buried heartbeat of a Black town that refused to be forgotten. #Oscarville #LakeLanier #BlackHistorySpotlight #BuriedTruths #TheyTriedToEraseUs
