Hey, my name is haley ann i am writing this on behalf of myself and my roommate tanes. On 8-3-2025 we lost everything that we own due to a fire in our home. This fire had happened when i just got home from work and my roommate had just left for work. My roommate decided to cook prior to her shift so she could have lunch for that day around 3pm she started cooking, finished up cooking around 4pm unplugged our portable stove top and took a shower then continued to get ready for her shift as she gets ready to head out it was around 5:30 she had put the stove top back in the box which we did keep it in the original box that it came in and we never thought anything of it. But happens that this time the stove was still to hot when she had put it away and unfortunately it started a fire with our place being so small everything happened so fast. By the time i got home from work i walked in and realized that my house was full of smoke i went to the restroom and immediately called tanes questioning why was their so much smoke in our home she said just to go open the door and let out the smoke because when we usually cook inside their is some smoke from where our house is small. So that was just what she thought it was from but unfortunately by the time i had walked out my bathroom the whole house was smothered in smoke and i immediately panicked running straight through it barley being able to breathe i just grabbed my purse and ran straight to my grandmas house (since her house is next door to me) by the time i got her over to my house the fire had spread even worse she had one of my other family members immediately call the fire department while on the phone with them she was trying to put the fire out with our garden house but unfortunately it was all too late next thing you know everything was up in flames and i had to watch my whole life burn up in flames. By the time my roommate had got home everything was already put out by the fire department her heart obviously being completely shattered because that was everything we had worked for all our savings our piggybank with 4k in savings all burned away my high school diploma my childhood memories etc. Fortunately we are okay but unfortunately we are left with nothing at the end of the day. Thanks to the red cross for already reaching out to us! I am putting this page up because anything helps! Please share with your friends and family.
