@shereeneidriss: 🌳 When thinking about skincare, or even cosmetic procedures: Look at the forest, not the tree. Nuances are interesting, FOR SURE. But the big picture is what helps you, as a consumer, make the right choices for your skin. When nuance makes no clinical visible difference on your skin, it kind of makes no difference in the grand scheme of things. All professionals should educate with the correct information, ABSOLUTELY. But to grow forward, and to make a change, we must grow together. It saddens me to see various groups of professionals online tear each other down over the details. Especially, when we all have the same end goal and objective. Each profession - dermatologist, aestheticians, and cosmetic chemists - holds its own value and importance in the realm of skin health and beauty. They fundamentally need to COEXIST: one cannot thrive without the other. In this instance, I use the example of chemical vs. physical sunscreens to explain how the big picture is what’s MOST important. Yes both function the same way and the difference between the two is SMALL. But that difference ultimately shouldn’t matter to you as the consumer because it makes NO difference to your skin or your body. Just wear the damn sunscreen and let’s move forward. 👏👏👏 We have bigger fish to fry with people still thinking sunscreen is the thing that’s going to kill you in the end. P.S.
