@muslimhandsuk: MUSLIM HAS KEYS TO A CHURCH? This is the story of how a Muslim Family has the keys to the Holy Church of Sepulchre in Jerusalem - which is Christianity’s holiest site. It is where they believe Isa (as) - Jesus, was buried. The church is made up of different denominations of orthodox Christianity, such as Armenian, Greek, Russian, Syrian and Ethiopian - whom don’t always get along and agree. This is why Salahuddin al Ayyubi, entrusted the keys to a Muslim family (where the keys have remained since) over the last 1000 years - who open and close the Church every single day. Not only does this help keep the peace, but it’s a reminder to the Muslims of the sanctity of other religious institutions, and to respect them and live in Harmony - especially in a city such as Jerusalem. Such was the wisdom of those from the past, and to this day, the family serves the Holy church with respect and kindness.
