This is her biryani recipe, and from now on, I’ll be sharing her dishes to keep her alive in my life. ⸻ 🍗 Ingredients For the chicken korma: 	•	1 large red onion (sliced) 	•	1.5–2 lbs chicken (bone-in) 	•	1 tbsp ginger garlic paste 	•	1 cup yogurt 	•	2 tbsp biryani masala 	•	3 medium potatoes (cubed) 	•	2–3 green chilies (chopped) 	•	2–3 dried red chilies (chopped) 	•	1 tsp Kashmiri chili powder 	•	1 tsp salt 	•	1 tsp garam masala 	•	1 tsp coriander powder 	•	½ cup water 	•	Oil as needed For the rice: 	•	2 cups basmati rice (soaked 30 mins) 	•	5 cups water 	•	2 bay leaves 	•	2 nutmegs 	•	1 cinnamon stick 	•	2 tsp salt 	•	2 drops white vinegar or lemon juice For garnish: 	•	Zarda food coloring (diluted + concentrated + powdered) 	•	Mint leaves 	•	Sliced lime ⸻ 👩‍🍳 Quick Method 	1.	Fry onions until golden, then add chicken + ginger garlic paste. Sauté. 	2.	Mix yogurt + biryani masala, add to chicken. 	3.	Add potatoes, chilies, all spices. Cook a few mins. 	4.	Add ½ cup water, cover and cook until tender. 	5.	Uncover and sauté until oil shows. For rice: 	1.	Boil water with spices and salt. 	2.	Add soaked rice. After 1 boil, add vinegar/lemon juice. 	3.	Cook till 90% done. Drain. Layer: 	1.	Layer rice and chicken. 	2.	Top with zarda colors, mint, and lime slices. 	3.	Cover and steam on low 15–20 mins. ⸻ Enjoy!
