@pixebo: I was too excited to share my dumpster pixel art yesterday, so I skipped throwback Thursday! Here’s a throwback for Friday instead. I animated this character base and walk cycle back in January! I’m really happy with how it turned out. Isometric pixel walk cycles are definitely one of the more difficult things I’ve animated. Characters in general can be challenging because a few pixels is the difference between triggering the uncanny valley or not. Overall I feel like the movement is pretty satisfying, especially for only 4 frames. Please keep in mind that this time lapse is very sped up and in reality this took several days of work! You may have noticed I’m not on the iPad for this one… In this video you can see me using my wacom cintiq and photoshop cc! I usually use photoshop for more complex animations just because it’s easier to manage a lot of frams and layers (compared to procreate), but I’ve been wanting to use aseprite more as well. Also I really love this song by @galaxygirlpaida.official ! If you haven’t listened to her stuff you should check her out. It’s so cheerful! 👾 Unrelated: I heard hashtags are dead so I’m doing an experiment where I only put three hashtags on this one. Wish me luck 😅 #pixelart #characteranimation #gamedesign
