AREPAS MASTERCLASS 🇻🇪  Arepas are amazing. They’re my favourite food in the world, so versatile, tasty & easy 🤩💚 I fell in love with them when I worked at Miranda (the most incredible vegan/veg cafe) back in 2018. A big thanks to the Venezuelan owners, Francis and Gabriel for not only teaching me so much about vegan cooking, but welcoming me back the other day to create this video. They have created some PURE FOODIE MAGIC here, the menu is diverse, healthy and all homemade. I can’t wait to see where they go next 🚀 If you haven’t already been, what are you doing? 👀 ⬇️Here’s the recipe, plus cooking tips on how to get the perfect arepa shape. SAVE for later 🙌 INGREDIENTS:  - 2.5 cups water  - 2 cups precooked maize flour, you can use Harina PAN, Masarepa, Juana or Doñarepa. - 1 tsp salt METHOD 💚Dilute salt in water  💚add flour bit by bit, constantly stirring with your hands to avoid lumps  💚leave for around 2-5 mins whilst you prepare the toppings  💚the dough is ready to shape when it does not stick to the sides of the mixing bowl  💚to shape the arepa, wet your hands first, then take a ball (size depends on personal preference) and shape your hands like a cup. Shape the ball until smooth, then widen your fingers and flatten your palm. Pass the ball between your hands side to side (keep them close together, don’t throw it). Wet your finger and gently press the sides so they are even.  💚 pan grill on a Budare or non stick frying pan with a light film of oil. Make sure the pan is super hot, you should hear a sizzle when the arepa touches the pan. They will need 6-7mins each side and should take on a little colour. When they are done, tap them lightly. It should sound like a drum!  The fillings we used are for a vegan Domino and Peluda! 😋 The Peluda uses pulled jackfruit filling and vegan cheddar cheese (yellow cheese) and the domino black bean mix and white cheese. #arepa #arepas #londonvegan #arepasvenezolanas
