Who knew that the Home of the Giant Slice was tucked away in the Oakville section of Watertown? We were beyond impressed by the quality of the pizza over at @martinospizzact! We tried slices of their pepperoni, bacon & onion, and chicken/bacon/ranch - not only did they taste great, but the crust maintained the toppings well and wasn’t even close to being floppy or soggy. It feels like we found a piece of the Bronx in CT with their delicious New York style pizza and “heroes” made on fresh bread straight from Arthur Avenue. The Italian combo and meatball with mozzarella and ricotta were fantastic! We also tried a few different wing sauces ranging from mild all the way up to intense, with medium and sweet heat in between. If you’ve been following us for a while, you know Colten loves his spicy food, so it was no surprise that he was a lover of the “intense” sauce at Martino’s. The chicken wings themselves are always fresh, never frozen. Martino’s doesn’t offer dine-in but does a killing for takeout and delivery. We went at 3pm on a Saturday thinking it would be an off time, but they were as busy as ever! It was a pleasure getting to meet and speak with the owner, Tom, who is clearly well-respected in the community - almost every car driving by the shop while we were talking to him waved or stopped to say hi!
