I put my dog on a retractable lead when it’s not busy, just to let him sniff and explore. As soon as I see another dog the leas shortens

They're great when used properly. I can let my dog out when nobody is around, but practice short leash walking when people are around

What type of high value treats do you use? I use cheese mainly but I’m sure my girl will get bored eventual of it😅

I use a retractable lead on my 10 year retired service dog. I understand your concern. W/O training it is dangerous.🐾🐾
