In Canada the payment protocols is standardized. (Interac) The US doesn't have any standard protocols for debit/etransfer payments

Years ago when we had already had card tap in Canada for awhile. I I went totrader joes(US),tapped my card and the cashier looked shocked it worked 😂

As a Canadian server. I NEVER take the cards offered by the American customers. They try to hand me the card I try to hand them the machine.

now I feel old. canada was like that to before wifi. and if you paid with credit card they had to use a carbon paper copy of the card and you sign it.
