Because truthfully? Sharing stuff like this still feels really vulnerable. And kinda…a lot. But I guess when you turn 40, you reflect a lot 😅 And I remember feeling so, so alone (like searching-on-Yahoo-Groups-and-forums-for-answers-and-help alone). And perhaps my vulnerability may help someone else. Let me make this clear: This isn’t a “bikini body” post. And it’s not a before-and-after. It’s a “wow, my body has been through it and somehow still shows up for me” post. 8 sinus surgeries. 2 PICC lines. Years of steroids. IVF. A thyroid that refuses to chill. At one point, Stanford literally took my sinuses for research. (Yes. That’s a thing.) There were so many moments I felt disconnected from my body. Like it was fighting me. Like it had failed me. But I kept going. She kept going (“she” being my body. She is me.) And now at 40, with Mother’s Day around the corner… I’m finally giving this body her flowers. Not because she’s “snatched.” But because she held me through the worst, and still made room for joy. This isn’t a glow-up. It’s a thank you post. To every version of me that kept showing up, even when I wanted to give up. If you’re in a season of holding on—I hope this reminded you you’re not alone.
