just use a shovel! my help went to grab the rock bar the other day for the hard ground, I told him not to. the gas line was only 2 more inches down.

I used to run hydro to new private homes and had to use a shovel a few times. then we got vac trucks in HELL YA!

not 100%, but pretty sure where I'm from, if you shovel out dirt it is considered contaminated if it leaves site. not if you vac it out though.
