✨ Ali bin Abi Talhah reported that Ibn `Abbas said: ﴿ وَأَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ طَرَفَىِ ٱلنَّہَارِ ﴾ “And perform the Salah, at the two ends of the day.” 📜 Ibn `Abbas explained that this refers to the morning prayer (Subh) and the evening prayer (Maghrib). Scholars such as Al-Hasan and Abdur-Rahman bin Zayd bin Aslam agreed with this interpretation. In another narration, Qatadah, Ad-Dahhak, and Al-Hasan said it could mean the morning (Subh) and late afternoon (Asr) prayers, while Mujahid interpreted it as the morning (Subh), noon (Zuhr), and late afternoon (Asr) prayers at the end of the day. This view was also shared by Muhammad bin Kab Al-Qurazi and Ad-Dahhak. ﴿ وَزُلَفً۬ا مِّنَ ٱلَّيۡلِ‌ۚ ﴾ “And in some hours of the night.” 🌙 Ibn Abbas, Mujahid, and Al-Hasan stated that this refers to the night prayer (Isha’). Al-Hasan also commented, *“This means the evening (Maghrib) and late night (Isha’) prayers.”* The Prophet (ﷺ) said: *“هُمَا زُلَفَا اللَّيْلِ: الْمَغْرِبُ وَالْعِشَاء”* — “They are the approach of the night: Maghrib and Isha’.” Mujahid, Muhammad bin Kab, Qatadah, and Ad-Dahhak similarly explained that this refers to Maghrib and Isha’. 🌌 It’s important to note that this verse was revealed before the five daily prayers were made obligatory on the night of Isra’ (the Prophet’s night journey to Jerusalem). At that time, only two obligatory prayers existed: one before sunrise and one before sunset. Later, a night prayer (Tahajjud) was made obligatory on the Prophet (ﷺ) and his nation, which was eventually abrogated for his nation but remained for him. According to one opinion, it was later lifted even for the Prophet himself. Allah knows best. #quran #tafsir #salat #dawah #islam #muslim #muslimtiktok #fyp
