@the.mama.coach: Baby’s need a huge mouthful of breast tissue in their mouth, not just the nipple. That is why where we put our fingers really matters! If they are too close to the areola, baby’s will only suck on the nipple. This leads to pain, ineffective milk transfer, decreased supply and a fussy baby. Instead, move your fingers WAY back on your breast, and gently squeeze. This allows the baby to take a large amount of breast tissue in their mouth. This elicits the sucking reflex, is way more comfortable, allows for better milk transfer, increased milk supply and a more settled baby. If breastfeeding hurts, let us help you! I have personally trained and continue to directly mentor my team of over 150 RNs, NPs, and lactation consultants. Link in bio to find the closest one to you. As always, I am sending you so much love and support. You are exactly what your baby needs, even on days it doesn't feel like it. #pumpingmama #exclusivepumping #breastmilk#postpartum #breastfeedingmom #exclusivepumping #pumpingmom #pumpingmama
