What if someone has an inverted stoma in a ditch? How would you keep it from leaking and bag changes at leas 2 to 3 times a week? Along with blisters?

I had a pt with a colostomy bag, I checked it before I went on break. Come back and the covering nurse told me it popped off & had a major clean up😂

We usually don’t use soap to clean the peristoma skin, just water. It allows the appliance to adhere better. 🥰

i had to do this when i was 12 because my gma was diagnose with stage 4 colin cancer... she passed shortly before my 13th birthday from it because of her age

You need to warm those jaggedly cut edges with gloved fingers to smooth them out before you stick to the skin. It’s impossible to get a clean cut.
