Yes! Coming into the classroom on the first day is not best for the children.

As a 1st grade teacher, I love that we have drop off at the door. Some kids come up the stairs crying, but they’re fine once they see all the fun😊

I agree children feed off of you. If you’re nervous or anxious the child will be too. Just do a quick goodbye.

I work at a cooperative preschool so there is always 1 parent volunteer in the classroom as a helper but all other parents say goodbye at the gate

Be kind :
Before COVID parents were allowed to go to the classrooms. Now they have to drop off outside. I hope we never go back because it is so much better.

Prek teacher for 23 years and counting. Lingering parents cause more tears. Parents need to be brave and walk away for kids to be brave too.

Before covid, we let the parents dropped off at the door. When we reopened during the pandemic, we tried this same method of dropping off at a front-

Yes!! On our phase in day we always tell the kids they have to break it to their parents they can’t come to school with them the next day. It works!

I’m a preschool teacher and I disagree with this. I teach my parents to have a drop off routine with their child then leave. I love parents coming in.

We have meet n greets. Parents can see the class then. We do drop offs outside and aids bring them in. It is SO much easier for the kids! 1/2
