At least for dev and testing, you should build a dedicated power supply. Make a battery belt and 2 long power cables to plug into the gloves.

question why not use metal ratchets? so the resistance is not on the motor? maybe different resistances are needed for squishy objects?

Couldn’t you use a locking mechanism so it locks the fingers in stead of adding resistance to consume less power and be more realistic
