We Turks don't need to wrap the cabbage with your hands, we just wrap it and cook it with rice inside. This dish is called "Lahana sarması".

Amy, there is a similar Turkish dish. We use grape leaves. We put pepper or tomato paste in rice. Then we chop tomatoes, onions, parsley and mint. Then we squeeze pomegranate syrup on the leaves.
