اُس کی شادی طے ہوئی تو اُس نے مجھ سے کہا، "زبردستی ہے سب لیکن۔" میں کچھ دیر اُس کا میسج دیکھتا رہا، پھر صرف اتنا کہا اُس سے۔ "اگر تم چاہو تو میں آج بھی تمہیں لینے آ سکتا ہوں۔" کچھ دیر تک کوئی جواب نہیں آیا۔ پھر صرف ایک جملہ آیا، "تم آ بھی جاؤ گے تو میں تمہارے ساتھ کیسے جاؤں گی؟ میرے گھر کی عزت، میری ماں، میرے باپ… میں سب کو توڑ کر اپنے لیے خوشی نہیں خرید سکتی۔" میں نے فون ایک طرف رکھ دیا۔ اُس دن پہلی بار رویا نہیں تھا، بس خاموش بیٹھا رہا۔ آنکھوں میں آنسو تھے مگر دل شاید اس حقیقت کو ماننے کی کوشش کر رہا تھا کہ جس لڑکی کے ساتھ زندگی گزارنے کے خواب دیکھے تھے، اب اُس کی زندگی میں میرا نام صرف ایک چھپی ہوئی یاد بن کر رہ جائے گا۔ کچھ دن بعد اُس کی شادی تھی۔ میں نے اُس دن نہ اُسے میسج کیا، نہ کوئی آخری بات کی۔ بس اُس کی پرانی چیٹ کھولی اور ہماری پہلی تصویر دیکھتا رہا۔ اور عجیب بات یہ تھی کہ تصویر میں وہ مسکرا رہی تھی… جبکہ میں جانتا تھا، اُس مسکراہٹ کے پیچھے اُس کی اپنی مرضی نہیں تھی۔ شادی کے بعد اُس کا آخری میسج آیا: "اپنا خیال رکھنا… اور اگر کبھی میری یاد آئے تو یہ مت سوچنا کہ میں نے تمہیں چھوڑ دیا تھا۔ میں نے بس خود کو حالات کے حوالے کر دیا تھا۔" میں نے جواب لکھا، بہت کچھ لکھا… پھر سب مٹا دیا۔ کیونکہ بعض لوگوں کو آخری بار بھی "رک جاؤ" کہنا آسان ہوتا ہے، مگر اُنہیں روکنے کی طاقت ہمارے پاس نہیں ہوتی۔ آج بھی کبھی اُس کا نام سامنے آ جائے تو دل یہی سوچتا ہے… کاش محبت کے لیے صرف دو دل کافی ہوتے، تو شاید آج وہ کسی اور کی زندگی کا حصہ نہ ہوتی۔#elmahashmi #foruyou

Wesley Snipes basically invented the modern superhero movie before anyone knew that's what he was doing. 1998's Blade came out a full three years before X-Men and set the template every comic book film since has been chasing, R-rated, style over spectacle, and Snipes so locked into the role he'd give interviews in character, staying in that gravelly Blade voice off camera just because he could. Which makes what just happened with Mahershala Ali sting even more. Ali confirmed he's officially done with the MCU version, after a full year of sword training that blew out his knee, moving his entire family to Atlanta to wait on a start date that kept getting pushed, turning down other roles because Marvel owned his schedule the whole time. He said flat out he agrees with Feige, that Feige should feel like a failure over how this got mishandled. His one silver lining, all that training didn't go to waste, it fed directly into his physicality for Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother instead. Snipes even got his own send-off in Deadpool & Wolverine,
