The lizard chemistry mostly fixed this. the air cooling isn't the issue it was hot batteries with bad chemistry. 2014 and up are fine.

All the Teslas and Fords from the same era are useless due to battery coolant intrusion, the Nissan Leafs still work because they are air cooled.

I keep telling my kids that the first gen leaf is the perfect first car. Hard to get into trouble when it can’t go far, isn’t fun, and relatively slow
