@feralforaging: Does Elderberry have lookalikes? I guess it depends on your ID skills. I cannot think of any wild fruit plant that has single compound leaves that are oppositely arranged and look anything like elderberries. Don’t know how to recognize a compound leaf or overall leaf arrangement? It would be best to learn that before foraging for elderberry then. And, you’re in luck, because I have a FREE identification basics class that you can watch right now to learn those things. I grew up making elderberry jam and yes elderberry can be VERY GOOD but if raw/under cooked can make you very sick
