@lawnsingoodnick: Scalping in spring, something that will freshen up and reset your lawn in a big way by removing dead organic matter! 🌼 For lawn species with an underground root system (rhizomes) like Kikuyu, Zoysia and most Couch varieties you can scalp them to dirt and they will regenerate and repair with the right nutrition and watering afterwards 🍃 For lawns like Buffalo and Queensland blue couch that only have an above ground root system, DEFINITELY reset them with a scalp this spring but don’t go completely to dirt because if you remove all of the root system (stolons) there will be nothing to repair and come back! ☠️ For my cool season friends, varieties like Rye and Kentucky Bluegrass can definitely be scalped, again though just don’t go to dirt! It’s also better to do cool season renovation work in autumn rather than spring ✅ People get a bit nervous about scalping and the lawn renovation process as whole, but it’s just grass, it’ll grow back! 🙌🏼#lawntok #scalping #lawnrenovation
