I often include calories in my posts just to create understanding and a visual around the concept of volume eating! Although I don’t personally count calories, it can be helpful sometimes to see the comparison and make informed choices. More importantly, BOTH of these options can absolutely be incorporated into a weight loss diet. Something I teach in my program is all about satisfaction. Ask yourself: what will taste good and leave me feeling my best in 20 minutes time? For me, in this case- I am a volume eater. Eating a few segments of the store bought chocolate orange just doesn’t hit the spot for me. More importantly I’m still hungry after and it doesn’t keep me full and satisfied. My home-made variety is so much more volume ( the whole mandarin is one serving size) and higher in fiber and lower in sugar which reduces potential glucose spikes and feelings of hunger :)  Remember: you get to decide which option would be most satisfying to you!  INGREDIENTS  153 calories for the whole thing. P:3g; F:9.5g; Fiber: 2.5g; C: 13.7g 1 medium mandarin OR orange 2 squares 85% dark chocolate Method: melt your chocolate in 30 second intervals in the microwave. Peel your mandarin and dunk it in the chocolate until fully covered.
