Sand mix works better and holds up better over time and you can dump it underneath before you set the tub. Less mess.

Type s mortar and you should put down tar paper over subfloor or waterproofing membrane before laying down mortar/concrete

2 flat head screw drivers, and cross them. That will get it way tighter then that stupid tool the drain comes with
