I started welding school and fix shade. I did it for a year, and now I’m on auto darkening. So much better especially for stick welding.

I’m the same as you. I teach the youngsters to do the head flip. I just think they need to Learn to do it 👍🇺🇸

I kinda disagree but for people learning how to weld should use fix shade then go to auto but thats how I feel

I think for stick and mig you should definitely use auto but you can easily use fixed for tig

depends on situation I think. if you gotta do alot of small stitch welds auto is handy. but alot of really hot welding fixed shade

A good auto with manual function. Everything in one. I was sceptical of the auto. But it is life changing

Fixed yes I'm old school but if you learn with it you have trained yourself and muscle memory a peace of cake.
