@sydneywater: Did you know up that up to 15% of Sydney’s drinking water comes from the ocean? 🌊 The Sydney Desalination Plant provides high-quality drinking water for millions of people in Sydney, and is our only major source of drinking water that isn’t reliant on rainfall 💧 #sydney #sydneywater #DidYouKnow #desalination #drinkingwater
I'm curious to know more about how and who cleans the initial intake pipe. I'm assuming it's scuba divers or some sort of auger.

Woah you skipped some important parts. Where does the heavily concentrated salt seawater byproduct goes? The part that is removed to make the fresh water. The rejected part. It can’t go back in the ocean or you could destroy the ecosystem. I’m not saying you are wrong. Just want to know the process of the byproduct. Last, how clean is the drinking water? Is it 99% salt free? Does it have a taste to it compared to natural fresh water?

Last I heard it’s not running and costs millions a year to maintain because it’s not needed is that still the case?

wasn't desalination considered non viable due to its very expensive energy overhead and running costs?

The water in Bankstown tastes terrible, have to triple filter it if you want to drink it, wasn’t like this before they connected this

Does this upset the salt level in the sea by making fresh water and putting back all that salt? 🤔

And the best of all is it hasn't even been needed. Another waist of tax payers money thanks to our disfunctional state governments.
