Bottom place Fire bricks on sand so easy cleaning. Also google smokeless fire pit. About 1 or 2 hours more work but reduce smoke 👍🏻

What stone did you end up with inside? I had to use red lava because of drainage and heat tolerance, but looks tacky on the TN stack stone & bluestone

Leaving gaps between your bottom layer of stone helps draw in air allowing for a more efficient burn, reducing the amount of smoke that everyone hates
