I know this is probably a different thing but I always preferred playing euphonium than my trumpet due to almost all the same reasons

I used to play alto then had to change to tenor and I think I made a good choice because I couldn't do much of the high notes on alto

Somehow for me when I play tenor I just know the notes from hearing them, not in a way where I can name the notes but it just naturally flows off my fingers when I try to play it.
