@crimewave_911: Hernandez played from 2010 to 2012; he made the Pro Bowl as an alternate in 2011, and played in Super Bowl XLVI. In 2012 he signed a five-year contract extension, which was one of the largest ever for an NFL tight end. Hernandez had been involved in or was a suspect in several incidents of violence; in 2013 he was charged with murder in the case of Odin Lloyd, a semi-pro football player who had been dating the sister of Hernandez's girlfriend. After his 2015 conviction, Hernandez was sentenced to life in prison.
