@tinyterriertyranny: I’ve seen multiple people worried that if their dog’s head touches the top of a carrier, or if they can’t sprawl out, it’s too small. That is true for house crates, but not car carriers! If it were, only the very tiniest of dogs would ever be able to use them—but the sleepypod is rated to 15lb, and the care2 for 20lb. That doesn’t mean all dogs of those sizes will fit, but I do think it means if your dog does and is comfortable, there is no reason to “upgrade” to a larger hard sided crate.
